Heads 4 Dreads was officially launched in 2000 in Brooklyn New York as a headwear company that specializes in headwear for people with dreadlocks. The founder Dasez Scott was Creative Director at for the Kangol Brand. When he could not fit most of the styles he was creating because of his dreadlocks, he decided to design hats that would accommodate them. Simply put, he wanted a baseball cap for that would be big enough to fit around his dreads. Word quickly spread to the musical community that the H4D brand made quality products. Many artists would call to ask for products to tour with. H4D soon went global faster than a normal brand because of all the musicians that toured the world wearing it.
